The cooperative's purpose is to provide housing at cost rent and commercial space at locally customary rents. It aims to offer housing in Steckborn for all sections of the population, particularly for mixed-age housing. It promotes cooperative living. It seeks to achieve this purpose through: a) Acquisition of building land and building rights. b) Construction and acquisition of residential buildings and mixed-use buildings. c) Careful and ongoing maintenance and periodic renovation of existing buildings. d) Construction of replacement new buildings when existing buildings can no longer be renovated in an economically justifiable manner. e) Possible use of direct or indirect funding instruments under the federal housing promotion law or corresponding cantonal and communal laws. f) Management and rental of apartments and commercial spaces on a cost-rent basis, with commercial spaces offered at locally customary rents. g) Promotion of cooperative activities in the settlements. The cooperative's activity is non-profit and not profit-oriented.
