The cooperative aims to provide its members with permanent, good and affordable housing and to maintain it through joint self-help and co-responsibility. The cooperative creates sustainable structures that enable self-managed, secure, ecological and communal living, working and living forms. In addition, innovative solutions are sought for lifelong, inclusive and intercultural housing. The cooperative can offer rooms for commercial services in its buildings. It seeks to achieve this purpose through: the acquisition of properties, building land and building rights; the construction and acquisition of properties that meet the modern cooperative housing needs; careful and ongoing maintenance of existing buildings for a long lifespan; building in existing structures; a focus on the entire life cycle of existing resources; managing and renting apartments and workspaces on a cost-rent basis; promoting community activities in the settlements; ideal and material efforts aimed at affordable, communal and sustainable housing; the construction of replacement new buildings when existing buildings can no longer be renovated in a reasonable manner; and the use of funding instruments under the Federal Housing Promotion Act or corresponding cantonal and communal laws.
