To bring together free zones, regional, national, sub-national and local free zone associations, free zone consultants and advisors, free zone users, interested government organizations and international trade-related organizations, for the purpose of sharing knowledge, networking, business development and education; to gather, create, increase and disseminate knowledge of and about free zones at the international level; to advocate before international organizations and governments on behalf of free zones and the collective interests of their members, and to raise public awareness of free zones; to provide useful services to members, associates and observers through physical and electronic resources and services; to support and advise new free zones at the international level as they develop; to develop guidelines for best practices in establishing and administering free zones; to be recognized as the leading authority on free zones worldwide; and to perform any other tasks authorized by law and approved by the general assembly.
