The company's purpose is to trade in raw materials and other goods, as well as to conduct all related business, in particular but not limited to trading in derivatives and financial instruments, and to acquire, hold, manage, finance and dispose of assets and/or participations in other companies of all kinds in Switzerland and abroad, with the exception of transactions prohibited by the Federal Act on the Acquisition of Real Estate by Persons Abroad (BewG). The company is part of a group of companies and, to the extent permitted, directs its business activities towards the group's goals. Accordingly, the company may, in the interest of the group or individual group companies (including their direct or indirect parent companies and their direct or indirect subsidiaries), conclude contracts, in particular grant loans or other financing to such group companies, and provide security for their liabilities of any kind, including by way of pledges or security assignments and transfers of the company's assets, or by way of guarantees of any kind, whether against payment or not. Furthermore, the company may, in the interest of the group, the direct and indirect shareholders of the group, the direct and indirect subsidiaries of these shareholders or joint venture companies of these shareholders with third parties, conclude contracts, in particular grant loans or other financing and provide security for their liabilities of any kind, including by way of pledges or security assignments and transfers of the company's shares, or by way of guarantees of any kind, provided that these contracts are concluded on market terms. The company may establish branches and subsidiaries in Switzerland and abroad, and acquire, hold, sell or finance any type of business. The company may acquire, hold and sell real estate. The company may exploit, evaluate and manage intellectual property rights and know-how, and engage in financial, trust and investment business. The company may engage in all commercial activities that are directly or indirectly related to the company's purpose, and take all measures that appear to be suitable for promoting the company's purpose or are related to it.
