The association aims to promote art and artists, as well as the understanding of art. It can acquire, use, manage and sell properties and intellectual property rights, and conduct all business that is related to the purpose of the association or suitable to promote it. It fosters contact and solidarity among its members. The means of achieving this purpose include, in particular: presenting various forms of artistic expression; organizing and participating in exhibitions, concerts, readings, lectures, excursions, museum and studio visits, and courses; exercising patronage for artists and art objects and presenting them; advising and supporting artists and art project collaborations; advising and supporting interested parties in the acquisition and care of art objects; supporting public and private efforts to promote and preserve art; participating in public cultural events of the municipality, canton, and federal government, as well as internationally, especially in neighboring countries; maintaining connections with societies, associations, and foundations with similar goals; contacting municipal, cantonal, and federal authorities that promote and support the association's activities; using electronic media for broad information and member information.
