The foundation and tasks of the company are based on the will of the late Professor Dr. Alfred Schmid from Flüelen/Uri. The purpose of the company is the management of its own and third-party assets. The company can establish subsidiaries, participate in related companies, acquire, hold, manage, encumber, utilize and sell real estate and intellectual property rights, and provide financing to affiliated and other companies, provide securities of all kinds or otherwise secure or guarantee obligations of these companies. Furthermore, the company can engage in all commercial, financial and other activities that appear to promote or be related to the purpose of the company. In particular, the company's purpose includes financing and fulfilling long-term tasks ordered by the late Professor Dr. Alfred Schmid; these include, among other things, maintaining the condominium in Ascona, reviewing and publishing his intellectual estate, as well as managing all his former assets in and outside Switzerland.
