The IPSC was created to promote, maintain, improve and advance the sport of shooting, to safeguard its principles and to regulate its conduct worldwide, in order to promote the safe and effective use of firearms by people of good character, in particular but without prejudice to the foregoing, in order to achieve these objectives by adhering to the following principles, which are established to define the nature of precision shooting, and these are summarized as follows: -Diligentia-Vis-Celeritas, namely, Accuracy, Power and Speed. They are accepted by all members of the International Confederation of Sports Shooting as conditions of membership (for full purpose see statutes).
