The cooperative is a business cooperative. Its purpose is to create, maintain, renovate, and rent out affordable and good-quality housing for its tenants on a permanent basis, with the exclusion of any speculative intent, through mutual self-help. It specifically aims to promote affordable housing construction in accordance with federal housing promotion legislation and corresponding cantonal and municipal regulations. The cooperative can acquire or dispose of real estate or real estate companies, as well as build, acquire, manage, or rent out houses. The cooperative's activities are non-profit, politically and confessionally neutral, not profit-driven, and not speculative. The cooperative can offer spaces for commercial and other uses that are not subject to the provisions on non-profit housing promotion and the restrictions on cost rent and speculation deduction according to these statutes. The cooperative can conduct all business that is related to or promotes the cooperative's purpose. It can establish branches, agencies, and subsidiaries as needed, as well as acquire, manage, and dispose of or merge with other businesses. It can acquire, develop, encumber, manage, lease, rent, use, and dispose of real estate and properties in Switzerland, as well as acquire, use, sell, encumber, and exploit patents, licenses, and other intellectual property. In the sense of a secondary purpose that should promote the cooperative's main purpose, the cooperative can establish, acquire, dispose of, and operate energy generation, water/wastewater treatment, or other infrastructure facilities and trade in energy, water, or other infrastructure goods or offer other infrastructure services. The cooperative is authorized to enter into financing, restructuring, and intercession agreements with members, with participations, or with third parties, to issue bonds, and to grant loans or securities to members, participations, or third parties for their obligations. The cooperative can become a member of organizations and associations.
