The purpose of the foundation is: 1. To acquire and manage scientific collections and similar objects, including the possibility of buying, selling and exchanging them within the available income. This primarily concerns the impeccable maintenance of the founder's Lepidoptera collection at ETH Zurich. Associated with this, support can also be provided for work in systematic entomology. 2. To support the Musikkollegium Winterthur for its music school. The support for the Musikkollegium Winterthur is intended for the Robert Biedermann Fund for its music school. Further donations can be made both for the Robert Biedermann Fund and primarily in the special interest of classical organ lessons in the style of the great masters of the 17th and 18th centuries. The foundation board may consult experts, such as the chief organist of the Stadtkirche Winterthur, as needed. Contributions from the Robert Biedermann Fund can also be awarded to particularly talented teachers at the music school, whereas contributions allocated to the Musikkollegium may not be used to award scholarships to students. 3. To provide contributions for scientific purposes, primarily zoological and botanical, such as supporting reserves, zoos, etc.
