The purpose of the association is to provide international support for activities in the fields of health and environment; in particular, it supports and operates the "Bureau d'Appui Santé et Environnement-BASE" in Chad, which pursues the following objectives: 1. Identifying or promoting innovative initiatives to promote endogenous development at local, regional and national levels, particularly in the areas of health, social development and environmental protection; 2. Supporting these initiatives with a view to their optimal development by assisting in the search for and implementation of the most socially and technically valuable measures; 3. Supporting or establishing associations and networks to promote communication and cooperation between these local development initiatives (LEI) and between national and international development partners; 4. Providing support to these LEI and networks, particularly in the following areas: financing, consulting, research, training, technical support, organization and management; 5. Promoting and supporting measures to train the actors of these LEI in technical and social fields, and in particular raising awareness among decision-makers and technical leaders regarding a comprehensive and participatory approach; 6. Promoting the establishment of new forms of cooperation between countries of the North and South and between countries of the South; 7. In general, providing direct or indirect support and promotion to any initiative whose objective is to fulfill the wishes of disadvantaged local populations, meet their needs and facilitate their participation in decision-making and organization.
