to promote international cooperation in the field of humanitarian demining by training specialists, developing methods and providing different actors with the information they need; to create and maintain a permanent think tank, led by internationally recognized experts, responsible for analyzing experiences gained in different theaters, identifying problems and proposing solutions in the form of standards or methods; to create and maintain an information management system tailored to the needs of the United Nations and various Mine Action Centers; to organize periodic conferences allowing demining operation managers to exchange experiences; to organize training courses for future demining operation managers as well as for information management specialists.
