The foundation's purpose is to a) support needy or distressed individuals and intervene in any other humanitarian emergency where the Foundation Council deems it appropriate to act; b) support individuals who are ill or in need of surgery; c) promote and support education, training, and research in the fields of natural and social sciences, such as medicine, healthcare, biology, engineering, mathematics, economics, history, archaeology, environment, philosophy, theology, human rights, law, politics, fine arts, literature, and music; d) promote and develop all scientific, cultural, artistic, and humanitarian activities deemed useful, including promoting and supporting the study, dissemination, and promotion of culture; e) support the restoration, conservation, maintenance, and enhancement of historical monuments of architecture and heritage, such as historic buildings, religious and funeral edifices, etc. (see statutes for complete purpose)
