The association is a publishing house dedicated to youth literature, aiming to positively highlight Afro-descendant characters in children's books. Francophone children's literature suffers from an unequal and often stereotypical representation of characters of color. It is rare to see black protagonists in books intended for young children, limiting identification possibilities for a significant part of the population. Éditions Beth Story aims to fill this gap by offering children simple and accessible stories featuring black characters in a Western environment. These books explore the lives of people living in Switzerland, highlighting the richness and beauty of cultural diversity between African and Swiss traditions.
