The foundation aims to promote animal welfare in the broadest sense, both in terms of active practical animal welfare and animal welfare thinking and action in general. The purpose of the foundation includes, in particular, the following activities: a) financial and practical support for active animal welfare organizations and institutions, as well as individual active animal welfare advocates in need of assistance; b) support for actions and publications that are suitable for disseminating the idea of animal welfare in the broadest sense; c) combating animal testing and supporting research into alternative methods; d) combating mass animal husbandry (factory farms) and promoting species-appropriate animal husbandry, for example in the context of suitable agricultural businesses; e) contributions to the establishment and operation of shelters for stray pets, as well as the care of such animals and efforts to rehome them; f) contributions to veterinary care, including spaying/neutering of pets owned by low-income animal owners; g) promoting efforts to improve legislation and education in the spirit of animal welfare. The foundation is active throughout Switzerland within the scope of its purpose.
