The foundation aims to promote science and education in the fields of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases by organizing educational activities in Switzerland (Basel) and abroad. These educational activities include, among others, postgraduate courses, practical workshops, scholarship programs (in online, in-person, and hybrid formats), exchange programs, as well as smaller conferences and symposia. The promotion of science and education within the foundation's purpose includes in particular: - the procurement of funds and the awarding of scholarships and research grants to professionals and trainees in the fields of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases; - the promotion of cooperation between research and clinical institutions; - the support of the professional development of physicians in the fields of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases through continuous medical education; and - the promotion of medical education in resource-poor countries. The foundation operates in Switzerland and abroad in accordance with its purpose. The foundation does not pursue any commercial or self-help objectives.
