The main objective of the cooperative is to promote or protect the specific economic interests of its members through joint action, by promoting the sustainable development of fair trade and the Fairtrade ecosystem, in particular by developing alternative trade models for better access to financial resources for Fairtrade certified producers, manufacturers and traders, thereby supporting projects to increase supply and thus enabling members to have preferred access to Fairtrade certified products. The cooperative recognizes the importance of common standards for a fairer trade in goods, as defined by Fairtrade Labeling Organizations International e.V. and promoted by its members such as the Max Havelaar Foundation (Switzerland). While organizations of the Fairtrade ecosystem should therefore have priority, access to financing and support activities can also be granted to other fair trade actors if this is in the best interest of the cooperative and its members. Any activity that promotes fair trade can be initiated or supported. The cooperative wants to show by its example that it is possible to conduct responsible and profitable business while promoting fair trade through joint activities. In a community-based approach, the cooperative uses new technologies for the benefit of its members and to achieve its goals. In line with its resources, the cooperative will extend its activities in the public interest to all third parties active in the above-mentioned areas who share its philosophy. For this purpose, the cooperative can acquire and/or use patents or licenses, establish branches in Switzerland or abroad, acquire or establish similar or related companies, or hold direct, indirect minority or majority interests in a company, corporation or cooperative active in the field of fair trade in Switzerland or abroad, with the aim of supporting the development of such companies in a responsible manner. In this context, the cooperative can carry out all commercial, financial or other activities that are directly or indirectly related to its purpose. The cooperative can acquire, hold and manage immovable property and hold securities if this is related to the promotion of its purpose.
