The purpose of the FIB is, among other things: to encourage the international development of Bowling, Tenpin Bowling, Ninepin Bowling and any similar variant of Bowling, as well as Para Bowling; to promote Bowling and Para Bowling as a sport of international level and recognition; to promote Bowling as an Olympic sport and Para Bowling as a Paralympic sport; to organize for its member federations: world championships, any major event related to Bowling or Para Bowling with an international impact; to act as the international federation of Bowling and Para Bowling within the Olympic movement and, consequently, to establish and enforce, in accordance with the Olympic Charter and the International Paralympic Committee Handbook, the rules concerning the practice of Bowling with the intention of participating in the Olympic Games and Para Bowling in the Paralympic Games, and to fulfill, with regard to the sport of Bowling and Para Bowling, the mission and role of an international federation within the Olympic and Paralympic movements; to encourage and support the measures taken by its competitions and members (and their athletes) to safeguard the integrity of Bowling and Para Bowling, and to protect clean athletes by fighting against doping and preventing competition manipulation; to encourage and support measures related to the medical monitoring and health of athletes participating in FIB competitions; to ensure the enjoyment of the rights and freedoms set out in these Statutes without any discrimination, in particular on the grounds of age, race, color, gender, sexual orientation, language, religion, disability, political opinion or other, national or social origin, wealth, birth or any other situation; and to create any entity that may promote the objectives of the FIB.
