In accordance with its Code of Ethics and Deontology, FISU's purpose is: to contribute to the sustainable development and promotion of university sports and physical education of students worldwide; to award the organization, and ensure the promotion and supervision of international sports competitions and sports, educational and cultural events for students, including Universiades, World University Championships, FISU Forums and Conferences; to work towards the rapprochement and cooperation of students from all countries to build the unity of international university sports, whose components are national, regional and continental university sports organizations, associations and federations; to undertake, in close cooperation with national, regional and continental university sports organizations, associations and federations, and in respect of their prerogatives, all activities of common interest likely to encourage the development of physical education and sports at all levels and in all parts of the world (for complete purpose see statutes).
