The association aims to improve the welfare of cows and calves by promoting and disseminating a species-appropriate, natural and sustainable cow and calf husbandry in milk production, with particular consideration for animal basic needs (mother-calf bonding, rearing of offspring, movement in the open air) and human and animal health. The association pursues its purpose, in particular, but not exclusively, through the following activities: Encouraging and promoting scientific work and investigations on the topic of mother-calf husbandry; Promoting species-appropriate, natural and sustainable cow and calf husbandry in milk production; Promoting further education and public relations on the topic; Knowledge transfer for all interested parties such as pupils, students, farmers, veterinarians, agronomists, environmental scientists, entrepreneurs, economic associations, politicians, media professionals; Support for businesses that want to switch to natural, mother-bound cow and calf husbandry. The association's area of activity primarily covers Switzerland.
