The foundation's objectives are: to maintain a specimen of a bourgeois house from the first half of the 19th century, by making available free of charge, by the municipality of Lausanne, the Hermitage master house and the surrounding land; to organize temporary or permanent exhibitions in the house that are of obvious interest to the country's artistic and cultural life and all cultural activities related to its objectives; to promote the development of activities in a peaceful and green setting widely accessible to the public; to ensure the management and administration of the museum; to constitute and welcome, in the house, collections of manifest artistic or historical interest, to accept on deposit or loan works of art that would be entrusted to it.
