1. The circle of beneficiaries of the Foundation consists of employees under a local employment contract with the ICRC, i.e. who are under a local employment contract not subject to Swiss law and who are not subject to the Swiss Old-Age and Survivors' Insurance (OASI); 2. The ICRC establishes a list of countries whose assignment of employees under a local employment contract results in the status of beneficiaries of the Foundation; employees under a local employment contract with the ICRC whose country of assignment is not on the list are not part of the circle of beneficiaries of the Foundation; 3. The purpose of the Foundation is to pay benefits of a provident nature to ICRC employees, as defined in Article 5, paragraph 1 of these Statutes, and their survivors, at the end of their employment relationship, in case of retirement, but no later than upon reaching the age of 70, as well as in case of death; 4. Under no circumstances can the Foundation assume obligations that legally fall to the ICRC (bonuses, allowances, etc. in accordance with applicable local law), outside of its provident obligations, nor make payments that have the character of work remuneration or a similar aspect.
