The development, securing, maintenance and provision of highly decentralized protocols based on distributed ledger technology, in particular the Massa protocol, as well as the holding of related rights, for the purpose of, among other things, enabling the issuance of digital tokens, federating a community of developers around such protocols, supervising the respect of open-source licenses used to make such protocols available, and, in general, promoting the decentralization of blockchain infrastructures. The goal is to address the current challenges in terms of performance and decentralization in blockchain architectures and to promote the development of highly decentralized networks on the Internet. The Foundation primarily, but not exclusively, focuses on the Massa network and the associated Massa protocol. To this end, the Foundation may support and finance suitable research and development activities and projects, promote and educate the public about decentralized technologies, and specifically about the Massa network and the technologies and applications associated with it, organize fundraising necessary to achieve the objectives described above, contribute to the issuance of digital tokens, collaborate with different companies, partners, banks, regulators, researchers, universities, students, developers, public authorities or other third parties, and engage in promoting the decentralization of blockchain infrastructures and the Massa network, acquire, hold or grant trademark and other intellectual property or license rights, organize conferences or other events to support and promote the Massa network, carry out and promote all commercial operations and/or participate in all transactions, and, in general, perform any act necessary, appropriate, connected or desirable to achieve or promote the objectives described above. Irrevocably, the Foundation is non-profit and does not seek to make a profit. Within the framework of its objectives, the Foundation may carry out activities in Switzerland and abroad.
