The Foundation aims to convey a representative vision of the painters, glassworkers and sculptors from Basel from the period 1850-2000, in the sense of: permanently and free of charge exhibiting the collection deposited with Marlies and André Becht at the Turconi Palace in Castel San Pietro, the seat of the Sant'Angelo di Loverciano Foundation; exhibiting works of art from the same collection in other locations, both within and outside the Foundation's premises, temporarily or permanently, provided that in the latter case, the majority of the collection's works remain in the Foundation's premises; targeted completion and expansion of the collection through purchase, sale and exchange; allowing, for the purpose of making it accessible to a wider audience, the loan of individual works to museums and galleries that hold special exhibitions. The Foundation has a public utility character and does not pursue any commercial purpose. The Foundation undertakes to carry out a regular inventory, set up documentation (publication with photos), maintain an exhibition, store paintings, plates and sculptures and provide insurance coverage. The founding family of the Foundation and their relatives are granted the possibility to visit the exhibition at any time.
