The Foundation is non-profit. The sole purpose of the Foundation is to support the mission, vision, goals, and objectives of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), as updated in its periodic strategic plans, including, but not limited to, providing financial support to: (a) Education as a public good, human right, and catalyst for other rights. (b) Ensuring learning, equity, and inclusion for the most marginalized children and youth, including those affected by fragility and conflict. (c) Achieving gender equality. (d) Promoting inclusive and evidence-based policy dialogue involving national governments, donors, civil society, teachers, philanthropy, foundations, and the private sector. (e) Providing support that fosters country ownership and nationally identified priorities and is linked to country performance in improving equity and learning. (f) Improving development effectiveness by harmonizing and aligning aid to national systems. (g) Promoting mutual accountability and transparency within the partnership. (h) Acting to realize the benefits of an inclusive partnership as the most effective means of achieving development results. In pursuing its purpose, the Foundation acts in a manner to support GPE's strategic plans to promote: (a) Greater development effectiveness and more effective aid for education. (b) Strong sectoral policies in education. (c) Adequate and sustainable national financing for education. (d) Sustained increases in aid to education. (e) Greater accountability for sector results.
