The association sees its task as enabling and helping to preserve the existence and development of the Rudolf Steiner School in Zurich, Plattenstrasse, which has existed since 1927 and is to be run on the basis of Rudolf Steiner's pedagogy, through moral and financial support, and maintaining its inner and outer independence. To this end, it can work with other schools that are based on the same principles. The organization and administration of school teaching is outside the scope of the association's tasks and is left to the teaching staff who are responsible for this purpose. Another purpose of the association is to operate a public childcare facility at the school. Attendance is voluntary. The childcare facility consists of a daycare center for children from kindergarten to the 5th grade. The association is neutral in terms of party politics and religion.
