The foundation aimed, until December 31, 2004, to provide occupational pension provision within the framework of the BVG and its implementing provisions for employees of gdz and companies economically or financially closely related to it, as well as for their relatives or beneficiaries, against the economic consequences of old age, death, and disability. The affiliation of a related company was made on the basis of a written affiliation agreement, which is submitted to the supervisory authority. As of January 1, 2005, it aims to continue providing benefits that existed in the foundation on December 31, 2004, as well as providing benefits for the relatives and beneficiaries of the aforementioned benefit recipients. The foundation can provide additional benefits beyond the statutory minimum benefits, including support benefits in cases of need, such as illness, accident, or unemployment. To achieve its purpose, the foundation can conclude insurance contracts or enter into existing contracts, where it is both the policyholder and the beneficiary.
