The cooperative aims to provide its members with affordable housing and to remove it from speculation in a sustainable manner. It promotes coexistence, mutual solidarity, and communal living and residential structures. To this end, it can acquire and encumber land, properties, and building rights. The cooperative's activity is non-profit in the sense of the Housing Promotion Act and is not profit-driven. These affordable spaces are intended to be made available to individuals with limited financial resources in particular. The cooperative acts from its specific social context and intervenes in social debates. It is critical of urban upgrading processes, i.e. it wants to be more than just a consolation prize for urban development policy.
