The foundation primarily aims to optimize the quality of life of Georg Hartmann Sommerhalder, born on October 6, 1969, to the extent that he is unable to achieve this goal alone due to his disability. The foundation takes or supports measures and initiatives that enable Georg Hartmann Sommerhalder to maintain intensive social contacts, also outside of his extended family, as much as possible (prevention of loneliness; promotion of social integration, development of his skills and interests). The foundation protects the interests of the beneficiary against third parties and provides, subsidiary to the services of social insurance, social and welfare institutions, as well as organizations for people with disabilities, financial contributions to enable him to lead a life that is worth living beyond mere subsistence. The foundation can conclude contracts with third parties in the interest of the beneficiary, take measures for health prevention (spa stays, vacations, etc.) or take or support other initiatives. After the death of Georg Hartmann Sommerhalder, the foundation serves the maintenance and health care of his surviving mother, Mechthild Sommerhalder-Müller; after her death, the foundation provides contributions to the education and promotion of the direct descendants of the founder.
