The Foundation's objectives are to play a constructive role in promoting: peace in divided societies and between countries; democracy and development in countries that fail to combine global progress with freedom and prosperity. In pursuing these objectives, the Foundation intends to: establish cooperation with international institutions and organizations such as the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the WTO; advise and assist, upon invitation or through confidential intervention, leaders of countries, parties, and institutions on conflict resolution, democratization, economic and social policy, good governance, problems arising from multiculturalism, and productive cooperation with international institutions; and facilitate effective communication, understanding, and engagement between individuals, parties, and institutions to resolve conflicts and/or promote consensus that can contribute to peace, democratization, and development. In achieving these objectives, the Foundation: will at all times ensure confidentiality regarding the content and recipients of the advice it provides and will act with tact and discretion; will primarily allocate its resources to capacity building and financing activities aimed at achieving its objectives; and will operate on a non-profit basis. The Foundation has no profit-making purpose.
