The foundation aims to support the residents of the municipality of Wengen (Lauterbrunnen) in the following ways: by providing contributions to young people to learn a profession or for further vocational training, provided that they or their legal representatives are not financially able to do so; by providing contributions to local clubs, institutions and organizations to promote local youth in the areas of education, culture and sports; by providing contributions to needy individuals to improve their living conditions, whether for repairs, renovations or new constructions, as well as for the purchase of furniture; by providing contributions to needy, sick or health-damaged individuals to improve their living conditions. Contributions according to the above provisions should primarily cover hardship cases and are therefore subsidiary to any insurance, social and other public-law support services. The foundation board decides on the entitlement and scope of contributions on the basis of individual case-by-case examination at its sole discretion. There is no legal entitlement to contributions. The foundation has a non-profit character and does not pursue any commercial purpose.
