The foundation provides contributions in cases of need due to old age, illness, disability or poverty to citizens and residents with their main place of residence in the municipality of Glarus Süd for the partial or full reimbursement of: medical and disability costs; accommodation costs for stays in sanatoriums or health resorts; Spitex, hospital, doctor or dentist bills; deductibles from health insurance; costs of personal expenses in homes, sanatoriums or health resorts. Under the same conditions, the foundation provides contributions to alleviate strained family budgets and to enable the social participation and integration of children and young people, such as camps, club memberships, music lessons, day structures, etc. The services provided by the foundation in accordance with paragraph 1 above go beyond what is guaranteed by Swiss social insurance law (AHVG, IVG, ELG and KVG, etc.) or provide support where this does not offer any. The concept of need is therefore not to be understood in the sense of complete destitution and must be interpreted according to the circumstances of the time.
