The InfraWatt association aims to: Encourage the use and production of energy from wastewater, waste, heat emissions, and drinking water, as well as energy efficiency in water networks, sewage treatment plants, and waste treatment facilities. In particular, it involves initiating and executing projects in the field of energy as well as more general projects that enable the implementation of relevant solutions (e.g., using other renewable energies, district heating, or ambient heat). The targeted projects are those that do not harm the environment, correspond to the current state of technology, are economically sustainable, efficient, and can be implemented with relatively low investment costs. This also promotes local economy and job creation. Of course, the basic supply and treatment functions of the facilities must not be impaired. The activities extend throughout Switzerland. Some activities can be carried out alone or in collaboration with other organizations, in Switzerland or in neighboring countries. The association develops services in the fields of information, consulting, training, and continuing education. It also develops quality assurance tools. It offers these services to its members and also offers them on the market. Members must be able to benefit from these services and enjoy favorable conditions. The association encourages the improvement of the framework conditions necessary to achieve its objectives and thus engages in active lobbying in politics and among the general public. The goal of InfraWatt is to increase the production of renewable energy, improve the energy efficiency of facilities, and reduce CO2 emissions. To achieve this, concrete objectives have been set outside the scope of this document (Annex 1). InfraWatt is a secular and politically neutral association. To achieve its objectives, it may affiliate with other associations or organizations or integrate them into the association.
