The purpose of the association is the reintroduction and conservation of the Przewalski's wild horse in Central Asia in accordance with the guidelines of the IUCN/SSC (International Union for the Conservation of Nature/Species Survival Commission) as well as the integral protection of the Greater Gobi Strictly Protected Area as a cultural landscape and its development towards a biosphere reserve in the sense of the IUCN. In particular, the following objectives are pursued: a. the Takhi project is to be meaningfully integrated into the overall development of the region, b. assistance is to be offered in socio-economic matters of the population, c. the understanding of the wild horses among the local population is to be promoted, d. the provision of animals bred in zoos and wildlife parks for relocation to Central Asia is to be secured, e. the transport of the animals is to be organized, f. the observation and care of the animals on site is to be guaranteed, g. the animals are to be released into the wild and their conservation in freedom is to be secured, h. the scientific accompaniment of the project is to be guaranteed, i. the publicistic activity and information about the projects worldwide is to be promoted and k. the cooperation with other organizations working on the reintroduction of wild horses is to be maintained. The association does not pursue any commercial purposes and does not strive for profit. The association is registered in the commercial register. Changes are reported continuously.
