The foundation aims to: - Promote education and training for children and adults, including free access to information; - Promote and protect human rights in the sense of the United Nations; - Promote research and development in natural sciences, technology, and medicine, as well as innovation; - Combat corruption at all levels and promote ethics in private and professional life; - Support medical institutions, preserve health, combat malnutrition and child mortality, and support palliative care; - Support aid organizations, e.g. in the event of natural disasters or armed conflicts; - Promote nature, climate, and environmental protection, and corresponding technologies, including sustainable energy concepts; - Promote cultural institutions and cultural diversity. The foundation does not pursue commercial purposes and does not strive for profit. To fulfill its purpose, the foundation may, at its discretion: - Support foundations, institutions, organizations, projects, and individuals in Switzerland and abroad that are committed to one or more of the above-mentioned concerns; - Support institutions and operational, commercial companies with the same purpose in Switzerland and abroad, or participate in them; - Acquire real estate in Switzerland and abroad.
