The foundation aims to promote efforts that are in the public interest and specifically serve the municipalities of Herisau and Schwellbrunn or larger or smaller circles of the population of these municipalities. Scientific, intellectual, cultural, social, charitable and sporting concerns can be supported, as well as projects related to nature, landscape and heritage conservation. Within the framework of the above purpose, the foundation board is authorized to issue more detailed instructions on the use of foundation funds in a regulation. The foundation is empowered to do everything that serves to achieve its purpose. It will primarily award grants, but it can also participate financially in other ways or take initiative and carry out specific projects on its own.
