The foundation and its assets are intended to serve the Kingdom of God through the edification and education of young and old, and through the care of the community of believers in the sense of a scriptural proclamation of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, our crucified and risen Lord and Savior, in accordance with the Apostolic Creed and the confessions of the churches that emerged from the Reformation, particularly the confession of the Basel Reformed Church of January 21, 1534. The foundation pursues its purpose, in particular, by enabling sermons and communion services, as well as other worship services in accordance with the order of worship, as a supplement to the worship offerings of the Evangelical Reformed Church of the Canton of Basel-Stadt, especially its Minster congregation, in which the building of the Engelgass Chapel was located. The foundation may also promote and support other tasks of the Evangelical Reformed Church of the Canton of Basel-Stadt, insofar as this is permitted by the pursuit of the aforementioned main purpose.
