The foundation aims to promote cultural education (research and teaching) on the west coast of Africa. To this end, the foundation supports the training of curators or other artistically active individuals in Switzerland and around the world, who focus on Africa, particularly Senegal, in their work. The foundation supports exhibitions, presentations, conferences, or similar events in the field of mediation to address the social and cultural challenges of Africa, particularly Senegal. The foundation supports young, education-minded individuals in the field of visual arts in Africa, particularly in Senegal. The foundation also promotes projects in Basel and Switzerland that deal with the cultural identity of Senegal, particularly in schools. The foundation places a focus on supporting the existing art center in Dakar (Raw Material Company), which has been committed to peace, security, and social development in various activities in Senegal for many years. A close relationship between organizations in Basel and the Dakar Art Center is sought.
