Landwaisenhaus Basel

The Landwaisenhaus Basel Foundation, as the successor to the Association for the Agricultural Poor School, aims to support the education and training of orphans and half-orphans, as well as children who are considered equal to them, with the goal of giving them the opportunity for an independent life. Children and young people who are considered equal to orphans and half-orphans include, in particular, those whose parents are unable to provide for them adequately due to special circumstances (e.g. deprivation of parental custody); children and young people whose parents are divorced or whose partnership has been dissolved and the parent with whom the children reside is unable to provide for them adequately; and children and young people born out of wedlock or without a partnership, whose legal guardian is unable to provide for them adequately.
