The foundation can promote national and international culture and art, in particular by: a) awarding corresponding scholarships for studying at universities of applied sciences; b) awarding cultural prizes; c) financing teaching assignments at universities. The foundation supports ecological endeavors of all kinds, in particular by promoting ecological research and a targeted information policy regarding environmental protection. Furthermore, it promotes the textile industry regardless of social, cultural, and national boundaries. The foundation aims to support the employees of Lantal Textiles and Wollspinnerei Huttwil AG, their children, and their relatives in connection with their education and further training. The foundation supports employees who have lost their jobs due to restructuring or economically motivated layoffs in their retraining. The foundation fulfills this purpose in particular by: a) developing and promoting education and further training programs for employees of the regional textile industry; b) supporting the children of employees of the regional textile industry and other persons close to them in their education, retraining, and further training; c) maintaining and operating welfare institutions or similar facilities for the benefit of employees of the regional textile industry or their relatives (e.g., childcare, kindergartens, apprentices' homes, etc.); d) providing funds for the retraining of employees of the regional textile industry who have become unemployed due to restructuring or economically motivated job cuts. The foundation supports these individuals in a suitable manner in their search for new employment and the necessary retraining. The foundation's promotional activities should also take into account regional policy aspects. The foundation can cooperate with organizations with the same or similar goals and take all measures that serve the purpose directly or indirectly. Furthermore, the foundation can assign tasks to be fulfilled to other organizations, create new organizations, and promote existing ones. The foundation has a non-profit character and does not pursue any commercial purposes.
