The foundation pursues cultural purposes. To this end, the foundation makes its violin with the inscription 'Nicolaus Amatus Cremonem, Hieronymi Fil ac Antonio Nepos fecit ca. 16..' available to highly qualified violinists residing in Switzerland for a period of 3 years, with an option for a further 2 years, following a trial performance. The violin is intended for professional use, whether as a soloist, chamber musician or in a Swiss professional orchestra. Short-term activities abroad (tours) can also be carried out with the instrument. The selected candidate is required to bear the costs of insuring the instrument and pay a small annual rental fee to the foundation. Further activities to achieve the foundation's purpose are possible. The foundation exclusively pursues non-profit purposes.
