The foundation aims to promote the expansion and research activities of the University Clinic for Medical Oncology at the Inselspital Bern. It supports, in particular, structural expansions, such as the construction of a pavilion, or assists specific research projects by acquiring equipment, etc. However, the foundation only provides support to the extent that the resources of the Inselspital or the University of Bern are insufficient for the aforementioned tasks. Under no circumstances may the foundation's capital be used for welfare or general purposes of the Inselspital. In contrast, the returns on the foundation's capital may be used for salary payments related to research projects, for travel expenses to attend conferences, and for the acquisition of literature.
