The purpose of the association is to develop and implement formalized open standards for Metaverse ecosystems, as well as to develop and promote new technologies and applications. The focus - but not exclusively - is on promoting and supporting community-led decentralized autonomous organizations (the "ecosystems"), including the Open Meta DAO. To this end, the association may: define and publish open standards for ecosystems; develop the ecosystem and underlying technology, including financing the development of technologies used in the ecosystem or otherwise supporting an open Metaverse; hold and/or license ecosystem underlying technology assets; manage its assets; support and finance suitable research and development activities and projects from its assets; publicly announce new technologies and offer training; issue, hold and manage tokens on behalf of an ecosystem; receive, issue and hold virtual currencies; organize conferences or other events; and take all actions necessary, appropriate, related or desirable to achieve or promote the goals described herein. The association may join or cooperate with other organizations and participate in community-driven activities that promote the same interests. The association does not pursue any profit.
