The Pakka Foundation aims to improve the living conditions of smallholder farmers and their communities, as well as local processing businesses, by developing and promoting sustainable, organic farming and processing methods. To achieve this goal, the Pakka Foundation develops, implements, and supports projects that aim to create ecologically, socially, and economically sustainable value chains, with a focus on the direct cultivation and processing of organic and fair-trade certified agricultural products, particularly nuts. This enables a high proportion of the value added to be generated by producers and processors in the countries of origin. To support local smallholder farmers and their communities, as well as local processing businesses, in developing and maintaining sustainable, organic farming and processing methods and value chains, the Pakka Foundation also provides targeted training and education (training) on site. This enables those affected to develop, implement, and establish sustainable business approaches independently in the future. Through the knowledge mediated by the Pakka Foundation and the resulting skills, the foundation is created for intrinsically motivated self-help, thereby improving the living conditions of the local population in a targeted manner. The Pakka Foundation carries out its activities directly or through local employees, as well as through technical support from a distance, in geographically isolated, politically difficult, and economically disadvantaged areas. The focus of the foundation's activities is therefore particularly in East Africa (Kenya, Rwanda, Mozambique, Uganda), West Africa (Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso), Central Asia (Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan), South Asia (Pakistan, India, Myanmar), and South and Central America (Colombia, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Honduras). In addition, the Pakka Foundation can participate in projects or support them through financial contributions or other forms of assistance to achieve its goals. Furthermore, the Pakka Foundation can take all necessary measures to achieve its goals, including establishing foundations, similar purpose assets, or companies in Switzerland and abroad, participating in companies, and acquiring, encumbering, and disposing of real estate. The Pakka Foundation can have tasks carried out in whole or in part by third parties. The foundation has a non-profit character and does not pursue any commercial purpose. The purpose of the foundation can be extended appropriately, taking into account the basic idea of this foundation. The founders reserve the right to request changes to the purpose in accordance with Art. 86a of the Swiss Civil Code from the supervisory authority. In the event of such a change, they will ensure that the amended purpose remains exclusively non-profit in nature.
