The Foundation pursues three main objectives in Switzerland and worldwide, namely the support and promotion of (a) sustainable nutrition and agriculture and the fight against malnutrition and hunger, (b) inclusive, equal and high-quality education and opportunities for lifelong learning for all, including at primary, secondary and tertiary levels for financially disadvantaged individuals, and (c) medical research and medical progress. These three objectives shall have equal weight, which does not mean that they must be equally funded. The Foundation Board may specify the main objectives in one or more regulations and adapt them to the prevailing circumstances from time to time. The Foundation may achieve its purpose through all suitable means, including the implementation of its own projects, the awarding of scholarships and the financing of prizes, financial or other support for education, research, cooperation with political, private or public institutions and/or NGOs. The Foundation may support any non-profit institutions in Switzerland and worldwide with the same or similar purpose, whether financially or otherwise, and/or cooperate with them. The Foundation may open (business) offices and branches in Switzerland and abroad. The Foundation may conduct all business in Switzerland and worldwide that serves the achievement, promotion or advancement of its purpose. The Foundation is a philanthropic, non-profit and apolitical institution established as a global initiative. The Foundation does not pursue self-help and commercial purposes and does not strive for profit.
