The purpose of the foundation is to promote a society that is competent and capable of dealing with dementia. It advocates for the concerns of people with dementia and their relatives, as well as organizations that deal with the topic of dementia. Mäander promotes practical ideas for a society in which people with dementia are integrated in a self-evident way, beyond the boundaries of institutions. The foundation shall be active primarily in the canton of Zurich. It does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes and is politically and denominationally neutral. The founders reserve the right to change the purpose of the foundation in accordance with Art. 86a of the Swiss Civil Code. Within the scope of its purpose, the foundation can establish other legal entities and/or participate in them. It can enter into cooperations with other persons and institutions, merge with other foundations, acquire or take over the assets of other persons, or acquire and hold rights or real estate.
