The non-profit cooperative aims to promote democracy by strengthening, preserving and further developing journalism as the fourth power. It is committed to providing all relevant information that enables citizens to form critical knowledge and opinions and make informed decisions. It promotes participation in constructive discourse in a non-discriminatory and diverse manner to strengthen mutual understanding. It seeks to achieve its purpose in particular through a) sponsorship of Republik AG and its independent digital magazine 'Republik'; b) development and launch of new journalistic formats; c) development of new distribution channels for journalistic content, whether as in-house development (preferably open source) or through support of third-party developments; d) networking of its members; e) organization of training, information and debate events; f) promotion of independent journalism in the public and politics; g) support of projects that correspond to the cooperative's purpose; h) promotion of journalistic talent; i) support of journalistic projects, in particular investigative research. The cooperative can take all measures that are suitable to implement its purpose directly or indirectly. In particular, it can establish branches and subsidiaries and participate in other companies.
