The foundation aims to promote research and teaching on the development of healthy and sick children, as well as the positioning and networking of developmental pediatrics in the health and education systems, in science, and in the public. This is to be achieved particularly through the promotion of basic research projects and clinical, application-oriented research, especially at highly qualified centers such as the Department of Developmental Pediatrics at the Zurich Children's Hospital; the promotion of the transfer of knowledge about the development of healthy and sick children, especially in the further and continuing education of professionals. It serves the interdisciplinary and interprofessional exchange on the comprehensive treatment, care, and support of children and their families within the health and education systems; the promotion of public dialogue on developmental pediatrics and the child-oriented values underlying it, particularly with experts from medicine and pedagogy, as well as in health, education, and social policy. This is intended to make a sustainable contribution to improving the developmental conditions and quality of life of children and young people. It may extend its activities to other areas, provided they are in line with the aforementioned purpose. The foundation is non-profit and does not pursue any commercial purposes.
