The association is not profit-oriented and exclusively pursues charitable and benevolent purposes. The purpose of the association is to promote the common good in the cultural, spiritual, social, and intercultural fields. The goals include in particular: a) promoting the Hindu religion (Saivam) and Tamil culture by managing and supervising the Shiva Temple in Glattbrugg as well as organizing religious ceremonies, funerals, and spiritual events; b) education and knowledge transfer through the provision of books and media, lectures by renowned Saiva scholars, and teaching about Saivam, Tamil spirituality, and philosophy; c) promoting youth education through religious and cultural programs, exams, and workshops for children and young people; d) strengthening intercultural understanding through guided tours, public events, and cooperation with schools and communities; e) charitable support for people in need, particularly orphans and socially disadvantaged groups in Sri Lanka; f) promoting like-minded organizations at home and abroad, specifically in Sri Lanka, to support their social and cultural activities; g) social and cultural offerings for seniors and older members.
