The association represents the ideal and economic interests of specialists, organizations and companies active in public relations and institutional communication in the public eye and vis-à-vis the state, economy and society. It promotes the reputation of the profession, promotes the perception and acceptance of public relations, develops the professional image, promotes the exchange of knowledge and experience among its members, provides services for the benefit of its members, regional societies and other industry organizations, supports high-quality education and training, promotes the recognition of the industry in the public eye and by authorities, ensures the examination system as an organization of the working world (OdA), is the official representative of the PR industry and contact person for public relations matters vis-à-vis federal authorities and parliament, maintains relations with the media, politics, economy, culture, science and the public, and cooperates with national and international bodies and associations active in the PR field. The association is politically and denominationally neutral. To promote the development of competencies and employability of its members and other industry members, the association may offer a job exchange and other services as a secondary purpose.
