Making distributions and allocations to charitable or non-profit institutions and/or projects with a charitable or non-profit orientation, with the following priorities: 1. Thematic priorities a) Promoting, supporting and furthering the education of young people in need and of deserving educational institutions in Switzerland and Germany; b) Promoting and supporting the conservation of nature, animals and the environment in Switzerland and Germany; c) Promoting and supporting the preservation and restoration of historically and culturally significant sites in Switzerland and Germany; d) Promoting and supporting basic medical research and development, particularly in the field of ophthalmology; 2. Strategic priorities a) Projects of large, international organizations should generally not be supported; b) It is desirable to support long-term, larger projects rather than one-off distributions and allocations, in order to achieve greater impact and relieve the Foundation Board of individual projects; full purpose description in accordance with the statutes.
